Her husband who also tried to hang himself escaped with minor injuries.
Financial problems were cited as the reason in a suicide note found in the house, according to Brigadier Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation of Dubai Police.
The police received information around 8.45pm that three members of the family had hanged themselves to death in their apartment in a building opposite Lulu Supermarket at Karama in Dubai. The police rushed to the scene and found the bodies.
The woman’s husband, who runs his own business, also attempted to hang himself from a ceiling fan but he fell down, at which he panicked and called the police.
He was rushed to a hospital in a police ambulance.
The bodies have been sent to the General Department of Forensic Medicine.
The police found a letter which said the family members were ending their lives out of despair due to financial problems.
A police source told Khaleej Times that CID officials and forensic experts collected evidence and the preliminary evidence points to a suicide pact.
