The accident, which involved 21 vehicles, took place in the direction of Umm Al Quwain from Sharjah.
According to Arabic daily Al Bayan, ambulances rushed to the spot and provided treatment to the injured.
Lt. Col. Mohammed Alai Al Naqbi, Director of Traffic and Patrol Department of Sharjah Police, has called on all motorists to drive with caution and pay attention to the road, especially during foggy conditions.
He cautioned motorists to drive slowly, taking necessary precautions such as using fog lights and stopping the vehicle on the side of the road if visibility is not optimum.
