 Four men stood trial at the Ras Al Khaimah Misdemeanours Court in two separate cases, on charges of possessing and abusing narcotics.
The suspects of Arab nationalities admitted to abusing narcotic drugs, but asked the court to help them get rehabilitation treatment.
In the first case, the RAK public prosecution charged one man with possessing and abusing narcotic crystals and driving his car under the influence of narcotics. He admitted to abusing drugs and driving his car under the influence of drugs, but denied possessing drugs.
"The anti-narcotic men, while searching my car, only found some empty syringes. But they did not find any narcotic drugs," he told the court.
"This was my very first time to abuse drugs," he pointed out, asking the court to have mercy on him, and let him be admitted to a drug rehabilitation centre. The second suspect also admitted to using narcotic crystals and sought for rehabilitation treatment.
In the second case, two GCC nationals were charged with possessing and abusing narcotics.
The first suspect admitted to abusing narcotics and possessing a shot with narcotic crystal while the second suspect denied the possession charge and told the court that the syringe seized from his car was empty. He admitted to abusing narcotics.
