Maxine English, a prominent personality in the UAE's art and culture scene, has been awarded a 10-year Golden Visa.
The visa is in recognition of English's over 20 years of dedicated career in organising big-ticket entertainment and art events.
"To be recognised by the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority for my industry contributions is both an honour and a privilege," English, 38, who is a partner of Park Lane Live events company, told Khaleej Times.
English said the Golden Visa is "vital for the government's vision to promote arts and culture for the future in this region".
The Golden Card Visa was announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in May last year to attract and retain world-class talent into the country. Businessmen, academicians, scientists and other specially talented individuals, like sportsmen and artists, are eligible for the 10-year visa.
"To have my passion recognised with this award, paves the way for other industry leaders and undoubtedly places this city firmly on the entertainments map along with leading cities globally."
"I have witnessed and contributed to the rapid expansion of establishing the city of Dubai in its quest to shape arts and culture, both regionally and globally, and I am committed to furthering growth and expansion with exciting talent and initiatives for the future," she said.
