This symbolic walk has always seen the UAE's spirit of generosity shine brightly as families, friends and colleagues come together in solidarity with the millions of children and young people globally who embark on an arduous journey each day, simply to get to school. I'm thrilled to line up alongside many new and familiar faces this year, and I urge the UAE community to join us in helping make a lasting difference in the lives of millions of children and youth around the world."
Carnival-like experience for 2020
This year's walk will be co-hosted by Saif Abdulla and DJ Keza. The carnival-like experience will also feature a full program of entertainment, including live bands, parades, roaming performers, and a variety of pre- and post-event activities catered to families, children, friends and colleagues.
The roaming performers will raise the energy levels before the walk begins, and be found along the route to keep the carnival spirit flowing. Adding to the atmosphere will be Dubai Police band, Agha Khan Scouts and Guides band, Kharsha Drum.
Mouvement & Me will provide two obstacles games and four sets of stage engagement acts of 10 minutes each. Bounce will also provide their moveable trampoline along with Flying Elephant which will set up also carnival games, bouncy obstacle castles as well as face painters.
Meanwhile, face painting, hair braiding, carnival games, and sports activities are also part of the occasion, alongside other fun-filled activities including hula hoops, bouncy castles, and arts and crafts stations.
With a collection of giant colourful flags and other striking decorations reinforcing the carnival theme, participants can also indulge themselves in a collection of delicious food and beverage.
