He also stabbed three other workers, leaving them with serious injuries
Saeed Bin Tuwiya, Manager of Haj and Umrah Affairs Office, made the statement on Sunday following a meeting with Haj pilgrims at the Haya bint Al Hussain Islamic and Cultural Centre, Al Mizhar, to get them ready for the holy trip.
"The official Haj mission of the Dubai government is to include 65 pilgrims, who are all staff employees at different levels, from all departments of the local government."
Bin Tuwiya, who also chairs the Haj mission of the Dubai government, added that the department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai is fully geared up for the trip.
"The department has taken care of all the logistic preparations, spanning air tickets, airport and hotel reservations, along with visas, transport, and so forth before flying to Saudi Arabia."
The department staff competent scholars have prepared a rich cultural programme to develop pilgrims' awareness before and during the much-awaited religious trip, he pointed out.
"All the 69 pilgrims registered will be fully aware of every singly procedure and rite of the Haj or pilgrimage; the fifth pillar of Islam which is mandatory once in lifetime."
The Dubai civil defence has, meanwhile, provided an intensive training to the pilgrims present on the right evacuation procedures in case of fire or emergency situations.
"The Dubai Ambulance Foundation has also provided the pilgrims with an interesting training on the right way to treat suffocation, fractures, and bleeding."
The mission staff doctor has enlightened the pilgrims about the possible infections during the Haj season, Bin Tuwiya stated. "The pilgrims learn how to protect themselves against seasonal diseases and properly get treatment."
