Teachers and other staff at Sharjah’s private schools should undergo a Covid-19 test every 14 days to ensure the safety of the students, a circular issued by the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) has said.
The authority said the employees who received two doses of vaccine against Covid-19 are excluded from the mandatory nasal swab test that should be conducted at their own expense.
The teachers or school staff who have a medical certificate, indicating that they cannot receive the vaccine because of their health condition, will have to conduct the PCR test every 14 days and submit the result to the school authorities.
The circular also stated that the staff of private educational institutions, while visiting the SPEA headquarters, must present the negative result of a PCR test conducted within 72 hours before entering the facility. Those who received both doses of the vaccination are exempted from this.
The authority also asked all private educational institutions in Sharjah to update the “Tamam” platform with the numbers of its employees who received the vaccine against Covid-19, the results of those who conducted the test and other details.
The SPEA inspection teams will request the PCR negative results of the staff present in the institutions, it added.
