Everyone can play their part to help cushion the impact of the health, economic and financial consequences arising from the Covid-19 outbreak.
The 'Community Solidarity Fund Against Covid-19' was set up by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department to ensure a lifeline was offered to those impacted the most by the global outbreak.
Khaleej Times has put together a list of some of the initiatives and government-sanctioned charities based in the UAE for you to show your support.
TO EXTEND MEDICAL AND EDUCATIONAL AID
Ma'an, the Authority of Social Contribution in Abu Dhabi, rolled out its 'Together We Are Good' programme.
Although the programme is not specifically targeted towards Covid-19 relief, the funds will be used to extend medical and educational aid. They are also providing food supplies.
Ma'an has received hundreds of calls and thousands of text messages. People have been offering to make financial or in-kind contributions. Non-financial donations included hotel rooms, villas and apartments, cars, meals, industrial buildings, tents, farms and land space.
How to donate
>Call the hotline on 8005-MAAN (6226) or send a WhatsApp message to +971-54-305-5366.
>Make a transfer via First Abu Dhabi Bank using the IBAN number: AE100351011003988349032
>Send a text message to a number that corresponds to a monetary donation. Send the SMS to 6670 (for a Dh50 donation), 6678 (Dh100), 6683 (Dh500) or 6658 (Dh1,000).

TO SUPPORT EDUCATION
Dubai Cares, part of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, is aiming to work on the education element of the Covid-19 crisis.
Last month, Dubai Cares joined the Unesco Global Education Coalition for Covid-19 response to help countries find solutions for distance learning, in order to minimise educational disruptions caused by the pandemic.
