All commercial and residential buildings in the emirate will have to instal surveillance cameras from October this year as per the instructions from Ajman Police.
Speaking to Khaleej Times on the sideline of Ramadan Majlis hosted by the Ajman Police, Brigadier Sultan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, said the instruction follows the decision issued recently by the Ajman Executive council that ordered installation of CCTV cameras in all these premises as well as halls and centres where events are organised.
The Ajman Police held meeting with owners and consultants of buildings, as well as municipality officials regarding the decision, he said, adding that CCTV cameras will be installed in all buildings, both the new and old ones. The decision has been made as part of executing the project of Ajman Dar Al Aman (Ajman, the city of safety and peace) which targets ensuring safety, security, peace and comfort for the residents.
The police are working currently to set conditions for installing the cameras which must be of high quality. The equipment would be sold through an outlet approved by the police, based on certain standards and condition, he said.
