An Arab man, who stood trial in the Sharjah Criminal Court for alleged burglary in a residential apartment, claimed he entered the house to repair windows and kitchen cabinets in the absence of the owner of the flat. However, the complainant who lost valuables during his vacation refuted the claims of the defendant and said he did not know the accused.

The case dates back to September, when the complainant went on vacation. On his return to the flat, he found the main door was broken and many things in the house were damaged. He filed a complaint with the police, who found the fingerprints of the accused at the flat during investigation. Later, the police contacted the complainant and informed him that an Arab man in his 30s was arrested for the burglary.

During the police interrogation, the accused claimed that he knew the complainant and finding his fingerprints at the flat was normal as he entered the flat in the absence of the owner to repair doors and kitchen cabinet. He also claimed that when he entered the flat there were maid and children inside.

The complainant refuted all the claims by the defendant and said he did not have a maid and there was nobody inside the house when the accused entered the flat. He also said he saw the accused for the first time at the police station.

The court adjourned the case to next month for judgement.
