Bee'ah, the Sharjah Environment Company, has launched its Tandeef smart eco-fleet - a revolutionary expansion for vehicular green technology and state-of-the-art functions.
The smart eco-fleet is a selection of technologically advanced environmental vehicles added to the fleet of Tandeef, Bee'ah's waste collection division, improving the environmental impact of its operations with lower-emissions and better efficiency.
The latest announcement is seen as a significant and vital step towards fully transforming the company's transportation and waste management operations, into the benchmark for the region for sustainable transport.
Bee'ah's smart eco-fleet is highlighted by the addition of new electric vehicles - a first in the UAE in waste management, which includes public cleansers, sweepers, washers, leaf collectors and litter pickers.
They're easy, convenient, low noise, and completely sustainable. In addition, Bee'ah has obtained combi-wash vehicles, featuring completely hygienic technology, as they collect and clean bins at the same time, which in turn saves time, effort, resources, and manpower. Furthermore, compressed natural gas (CNG) is used to operate a number of Tandeef's new vehicles, which also reduces the negative impact of CO2 emission on the environment.
Khaled Al Huraimel, Group CEO of Bee'ah, said: "This new progress in Bee'ah's journey aims at lifting the environmental impact of our fleet, while at the same time demonstrating the innovative nature of environmental progress in the Middle East.
"This issue is of monumental consequence both for present and future generations, addressing the benefits of smart technology and utilising them within our strategic development signifies our position as leaders in this region."
The smart eco-fleet will be supported by a range of key features previously unutilised in the environmental sector.
These include 'smart routing', a GPS-mapped system that features the dispatch on demand (DOD) option; and 'smart bins', which senses the waste inside the bin and sends dispatch to vehicles per sector for collection. The bins are collected when they're full, or in case of non-full bins, the collection will be performed within two days to avoid insects and unsanitary bins.
