A 21-month-old Arab boy is currently fighting for his life after he fell from the third floor of a building in Al Taawun area in Sharjah.
Police said that they received a call at 2 pm on Saturday and they immediately dispatched the concerned units including the national ambulance. When the team arrived, the boy was still alive. He was rushed to Al Qassimi hospital where he is currently fighting for life in the ICU.
The boy who is identified as M.M.M was living with his parents in Al Shaiba building. He fell from the balcony of the building while his parents were inside the house. The boy was playing and sneaked to the balcony without the knowledge of his parents who thought he was still around them. The medical staff at Al Qassimi hospital said that the boy has fractures in all parts of the body and a special team has been assigned to save his life.
Police have launched an investigation into the case to determine the cause of the accident.
This is the latest of several cases where children fall from high rise buildings. Most of the accidents occur due to the negligence of parents, despite intensified awareness by various authorities in the emirate.
