Abu Dhabi's Al Khatam Park was thrown open on Thursday after completion of its renovation. The Park was opened at a special event by Musabbah Mubarak Al Murar, Acting General Manager of Abu Dhabi City Municipality,
"The renovation project is a testament to the efforts and endeavours of the Abu Dhabi Government to provide decent living for citizens and residents, diversifying recreational facilities for the whole populace at the world's best standards," said Al Murar.
Established in 1987, Al Khatam Park is one of the oldest serving parks in Abu Dhabi characterised by abundant fountains adding to the glamour for visitors. It boasts extensive areas for sitting and relaxation as well as designated places for practicing sports and children's playgrounds, with its expansive area of 5.7 square hectares.
The renovation project was also intended to broaden the green spaces and diversify parks and recreational facilities towards realising Abu Dhabi Vision 2030 and cementing the infrastructure of Abu Dhabi to cater to the rising growth and sustainability seen by the city on all fronts.
The Park been transformed into a multi-purpose park and an entertainment venue of world-class standards, intended to measure up to the needs and aspirations of the community as it provides upscale environment and modern services, rendering the park a favourite destination for all family members.
Abu Dhabi City Municipality has completed the Al Khatam Park development project after constructing several recreational and sports facilities, as the park is a vital venue for residents of Al Khatam and surrounding areas. The revamping of Al Khatam Park included construction of a shaded playground for children below three years, and renovation of the playgrounds for children aged 3-7 years and 7-15 years.
