The Ajman Sewerage Private Company in coordination with Ajman Municipality launched the installation of 1,500 water-flow regulating devices in numerous schools and municipal premises as part of its need-of-the-hour' initiative. Speaking about this initiative Mr. Christophe Ledur, general manager said that the company is echoing their commitment towards water management by accelerating its efforts towards environmental sustainability and the preservation of strategic water resources.

Ajman Sewerage in its pilot phase had earlier installed these devices at several properties in Ajman and received astonishing results where up to 40 per cent of precious water was conserved. "Water is a valuable resource and we aim to change the conscience of the society to ensure environmental sustainability throughout the water cycle, from water preservation upstream this water cycle up to the re-use of treated water downstream this water cycle."
Ajman Sewerage aims at supporting the installation of these water saving devices on a large-scale basis to include public buildings and areas of mass-water consumption such as mosques, schools, local authority premises and hotels. "Ajman Sewerage is planning sensitisation initiatives with 'open days' at their wastewater treatment plant and awareness lectures on water conservation in schools and colleges."
An official at Ajman Municipality said that Ajman municipality is very keen to adopt conservation and recycling strategy to ensure sustainability and environment friendly solutions that would bring the emirate to be one of the advanced and smart cities in the world. "Water is a scarce resource and we must find proper methods to save and recycle it. These devices will play a big role in reducing water wastage in the emirate. Such efforts will help lower the UAE's high per capita water consumption," he said.
