Outstanding patient care and services have won Al Ain Hospital the top honour at the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award (SKEA) this year.
The facility, which is operated by Seha, was among the 18 SKEA winners recognised on Wednesday at a ceremony organised by the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) at Emirates Palace hotel.
Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court and Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council handed the awards to public and private firms and government departments for their top-notch services and performance.
"We are very excited and honoured to receive the most prestigious award in the country," Hamed Al Mansouri, CEO of Al Ain Hospital, told Khaleej Times after receiving the diamond award.
"Over the recent years, we have worked diligently to ensure the provision of quality services to our patients and other stakeholders. We are keen on adapting to new clinical practices and methodologies, innovations and technologies," he added.
Known for its multidisciplinary, specialist, ambulatory diagnostics and treatment services, Al Ain Hospital receives more than 20,000 inpatients, and 250,000 outpatients every year. And every day, an average of 300 patients are seen at the hospital's Emergency and Trauma Centre.
The coveted excellence award has been instrumental in promoting the culture of innovation and creativity that contributes to developing local industrial and services sectors.
Winners from the UAE and GCC nations were chosen for all sectors of economy - from government to health, manufacturing, trade, services, finance, tourism, construction, education and oil and gas.

Abdul Jalil Al Fahim, chairman of the SKEA's Higher Organising Committee, said the SKEA programme has become a model for prominent local, regional and international organisations in terms of excellence and quality.
"The award aims to elevate organisational performance and increase competitive capabilities of companies operating in the UAE and the GCC," said Al Fahim.
"Over the years, participants of the award have excelled, not only in spreading fine business culture but in cultivating the knowledge of quality and excellence inside their companies."
He highlighted the importance of achieving excellence on all levels: From customer and employee satisfaction to leaving a positive impact on the society environmentally, economically and socially.
