Cabbies in the UAE capital can visit Louvre Abu Dhabi for free for the whole month of December. The new promotion allows taxi drivers to take two of their friends or family also with them without having to pay.
Regular ticket to the museum costs Dh65.
Taxi drivers can present their ID at the entrance to avail of the deal.
Shah Zaiby, a Pakistani driver, who saw the sign board announcing the promotion at the Louvre taxi stand, said he would definitely make use of the opportunity. "I often drop customers at the museum but has never gone in. I know it is the most famous museum in the world, and I would like to see what is inside," said Zaiby.
Shehzan Hassan, another cabbie from Pakistan said he loves history and have been always wanting to visit Louvre. "I have heard about Monalisa painting in Louvre museum in Paris. I am sure there are such interesting paintings in Louvre Abu Dhabi too. I will definitely check it out."
The museum is open to public from 10am until 8pm Saturday to Wednesday and till 10pm on Thursday and Friday.
Louvre Abu Dhabi, the largest art museum in the Arab world was opened on November 8, 2017. Located on Saadiyat island, the museum is home for some of the most exquisite pieces of art and sculptures spanning civilizations.
