8-year-old drowns in Fujairah wadi

Fujairah - The boy who was on a picnic slipped into the rainwater-filled wadi.

An eight-year-old Emirati boy drowned in a wadi in Fujairah on Saturday. The boy had gone to the Wadi Al Seiji with his family for a picnic.
According to the police, when torrential rains lashed the area, the child slipped into the rainwater-filled wadi. One of family members rescued him and rushed him to Al Dhaid hospital. The boy died three hours later.
Brigadier Mohammed bin Rashid Al Teneiji, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Fujairah Police, said the police were notified about the accident in the wee hours of Saturday.
