16 new standards for gold, cosmetics, chemical products in UAE

Abu Dhabi - New 16 standards issued by ESMA in UAE.

The Emitates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA) has approved new standardised specifications, including 16 specifications for cosmetics, jewellery processing, chemical products, oil and gas.
Additionally, the authority approved a decision to obligate the use of the official seal for gold jewellery, precious metals as well as the identification cards for valuable gems.
The new decisions aim at ensuring the maximum satisfaction and confidence for the customers.
The authority has also approved a new standard for the welding components, to ensure the purity of the precious metals according to the regulations.
Moreover, the authority approved 16 standardised specifications for cosmetics, chemical products, oil and gas to ensure the quality of the products in local markets.
Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of ESMA said that the decisions approved by the authority aims at improving the quality of the products in accordance with the strategy of standards 2017-2021.
He added that using the official seal for jewellery ensures the customers' confidence and protect him from fraud as well as facilitating the international trade movement.
