Dubai - A new mobile application will enable parking inspectors in Dubai to quickly identify vehicles who do not pay parking fees at public car parks in the emirate.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai announced on Sunday the launch of the app for the smart phones used by parking lot inspectors.

Engineer Maitha bin Udai, CEO of RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency, said: “The smart parking inspection app has a host of smart and technical features which include data storage of vehicles in breach of parking laws, alerting inspectors to take appropriate action. It smartly positions vehicles incompliant with the rules, which would help resolve issues in a timely manner.”

The new app makes it easy for inspectors to make reports about any issues on site via a smart electronic environment, besides streamlining the administrative affairs of supervisors, stated Maitha.

“The new app is a step forward towards realising the strategic goals of the RTA aimed at fulfilling the requirements of the smart government in Dubai,” she added.
