The Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department of the Abu Dhabi Police has identified three centres for issuing international driving licences and Carnet de Passage en Douane (CPD) — the Vehicle Test Centre at Al Salama main building in Abu Dhabi; Adnoc Technical Inspection Centre in Falaj Hazza, Al Ain; and the main building in Tarif, the Western Region.

Colonel Mohamed Mayouf Al Kutbi, Head of the department, said: “All individuals wishing to issue round-trip admission certificates for vehicles are required to obtain CPD before issuing the certificate from the Automobile and Touring Club – UAE, which provides its services at these three centres.”

All private vehicles registered in the state need to obtain a carnet de passage en douane from the Automobile and Touring Club – UAE when travelling abroad with the exception of: Vehicles of UAE citizens who are leaving to any of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries only; vehicles of GCC countries’ nationals residing in the UAE who are departing to their countries and returning; and vehicles of ministries and official bodies leaving to any of the GCC countries.

Col Al Kutbi said the Abu Dhabi Police provide all necessary resources to serve citizens and residents alike and streamline all procedures for completing their transactions in a short time.
