The 21-year-old Kleybanova dominated the match in humid conditions from the start and finished it off in just over 100 minutes.

The match was suspended in the first set for 95 minutes due to rain.

On the resumption, Kleybanova continued to play an aggressive game and managed to stay in the rallies against the 28-year-old Dementieva.

Both players fought hard for the points but Kleybanova outclassed Dementieva in all aspects of the game including four aces. Kleybanova ended the match with a powerful serve.

“I am definitely happy to win the tournament. It has been a tough week for me,” she said.

“I congratulate Alisa. It was a great win for her,” said Dementieva after failing to win her third tournament of the year.
