South African qualifier Lloyd Harris continued his dream run at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships with a straight sets (7-6 6-4) win over 14th seed Filip Krajinovic of Serbia.
The comfortable win on Wednesday helped Harris earn a place in the quarterfinals, a remarkable achievement for a player who had come through the qualifying rounds in Dubai.
On Tuesday, Harris had stunned top seed and US Open champion Dominic Thiem in straight sets in what was the biggest win of his career.
The 24-year-old South African is enjoying a great run this month, having also beaten three-time Grand Slam winner Stanislas Wawrinka in the Qatar Open last week after coming through the qualifying rounds.
On Thursday, Harris will face Kei Nishikori, the 2014 US Open runner-up, in Dubai quarterfinals.
