A woman from the US has filed a case against Samsung claiming that her Galaxy Note 9 caught fire in her purse.
A real estate agent Diane Chung from Long Island has filed a lawsuit against Samsung at Queens Supreme Court seeking damages from Samsung, the New York Post said.
The lawsuit states that the woman was in an elevator on September 3 when she felt her phone hot after which she stopped using it and put it in her purse.
She then heard whistling and screeching sound as smoke appeared from her purse, the woman alleges.
According to the Lawsuit, "Chung placed the bag on the elevator floor, as she attempted to pull out her smoking Samsung phone, burning her fingers in the process. She claims she was trapped alone in the elevator with the burning Galaxy Note 9, and was 'extremely panicked'."
When the elevator stopped, she threw the phone out of her bag but it continued to burn.
The phone kept burning until a man picked it up and immersed it in a bucket of water.
