World diving superstars will arrive in Dubai next week ahead of the second leg of the Fina/NVC Diving World Series 2016 which will be held at the Hamdan Sports Complex from March 17 to 19.
Dubai diving fans will once again have the opportunity to watch a world-class sporting event with this year's line-up featuring crowd favourite Tom Daley from Great Britain, David Boudia of the USA, Jennifer Abel of Canada and Tania Cagnotto of Italy. A total of 69 competitors from 12 countries for both men and women will be competing for World Series gold including a host of international newcomers looking to make an impact ahead of the Rio 2016 Olympics.
With the Olympics just around the corner, competition is expected to be tough and as in previous years the Chinese team are set to dominate but not without threats from the likes of crowd favourite Daley. Kick-starting his career as a 15-year-old when he won the gold medal in the 10metre platform at the 2009 Fina World Championships, going on to win a bronze at the London 2012 Olympics, Daley has now booked his place at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
In support of the event, the UAE Swimming Federation is inviting all schools from across the UAE to attend the morning session of action from 10am until 12noon on Thursday.
