The secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Jay Shah, visited Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Friday. He expressed his satisfaction with the venue's preparations for the upcoming IPL 2020 tournament.

He was accompanied on his tour of the improved facilities at the iconic stadium by Waleed Bukhatir, Vice-Chairman of Sharjah Cricket Stadium and Khalaf Bukhatir, Managing Director of Bukhatir Group and CEO of Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

The first match from the upcoming IPL 2020 league to be played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium will be between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings on September 22.

The stadium will also be hosting some classic IPL rivalries this season including Royal Challengers Bangalore versus Kolkata Knight Riders on Monday (October 12) and Chennai Super Kings versus Mumbai Indians on Friday (October23)
