Al Nasr will square off against their rivals down the road Al Wasl in the Bur Dubai Derby, to kick off the new Arabian Gulf League season.
The draw for the new season took place at Al Nasr's Al Maktoum Stadium where the Pro League Committee (PLC) also released the groupings and the fixtures list for the Arabian Gulf Cup.
Champions Sharjah will begin their title defence at home against promoted Khor Fakkan while the opening week will also witness record 13-time League winners Al Ain take on Ittihad Kalba at the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium.
The second week of action sees two strong fixtures with Al Wahda and Al Jazira locking horns in the Abu Dhabi Derby and Al Wasl taking on Al Ain.
The dates were yet to be confirmed by the PLC but they did release the fixtures list for the entire 26 weeks of the season.
Meanwhile, it is a strong Group A with defending champions Shabab Al Ahli alongside Al Ain, Al Jazira, Al Nasr, Al Dhafra, Ittihad Kalba and Khor Fakkan, in the Arabian Gulf Cup.
Runners-up Al Wahda were placed in Group B alongwith Sharjah, Bani Yas, Ajman, Al Wasl, Hatta and Fujairah.
The opening week of the Cup sees Shabab Al Ahli away to Al Ain, while Al Wahda meet Fujairah. The next week pits Shabab Al Ahli against Al Jazira. Al Nasr are up next for Shabab Al Ahli, while Al Jazira take on Al Ain in week three.
Returning to the League, Sharjah face their first big test in the third week when they host Al Ain, while the round also sees Al Jazira welcome Shabab Al Ahli at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium.
The fourth round's top fixtures are Al Wahda against Al Nasr at the Al Nahyan Stadium and Al Wasl's tussle against Sharjah at the Zabeel Stadium.
