Abu Dhabi - Maratha pull off a 47-run victory in Group B

The Maratha Arabians were back in business after working off a clinical win over the Qalandars in the ninth match of the Aldar Properties Abu Dhabi T10 League on Sunday night.
The Arabians, who had gone down to reigning champions Northern Warriors in the opening game of the third season, pulled off a 47-run victory in Group B, at the Zayed Cricket Stadium.
Qalandars captain Dawid Malan came up 32 from 25 deliveries that was sprinkled with two boundaries and a six, the top score of the match.
But his knock was to go in vain as the Arabians put themselves up on the board with their first win.
Earlier, the Maratha Arabians didn't have any batsman who came up with a hefty score, with more cameos than anything. But they still managed to muster 107 for the loss of seven wickets in their allotment.
Up top, the openers Adam Lyth and Chris Lynn, made 21 and 20 respectively, with the opening stand worth 33 in three overs.
Lyth's knock came from 11 balls with three boundaries and a six, while Lynn, who was released by the Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of the IPL auction to be held in Kolkata on December 19, took 12 deliveries which had four boundaries.
Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, slow-burned his way in the format with 14 from six deliveries. The stylish southpaw rolled back the years with two sixes, indicating that a big one is due, soon enough.
Sri Lankan Dasun Shanaka hit 16 from 10 deliveries with two boundaries, while Mitchell McClenaghan bludgeoned his way to an unbeaten seven-ball 20 that had three fours and a six.
Medium pacer Lahiru Kumara picked two for 34 and the Sri Lankan rose to the top of the wicket takers list with seven wickets from three matches.
The Qalandars had a horrendous start after opener Luke Ronchi was cleaned up by McClenaghan.
The Kiwi left-arm quick then put an end to Tom Banton's misery after the English opener suffered a rare blip by scratching his way to a seven-ball four.
Malan and Philip Salt came together to repair the damage but the Arabians made the inroad yet again UAE left-arm pacer sending Salt back for seven.
It all rested on skipper Malan's shoulders but it was a weight too heavy even for the Englishman.
Dwayne Bravo had him caught by Lyth for 32 and 'DJ' embarked on a little jig by shaking a leg.
As Malan had said a day ago, after the high on Saturday, he experienced the low on Saturday.
