India's cricket captain Virat Kohli took to social media to pay tribute to former captain MS Dhoni, who announced his retirement from international cricket on Saturday.

"Every cricketer has to end his journey one day, but still when someone you've gotten to know so closely announces that decision, you feel the emotion much more. What you've done for the country will always remain in everyone's heart, but the mutual respect and warmth I've received from you will always stay in mine. The world has seen achievements, I've seen the person. Thanks for everything skip. I tip my hat to you @mahi7781," Kohli wrote on Instagram.
The 39-year-old wicketkeeper and batsman is India's most successful captain having won the World Cup, the inaugural T20 World Cup and the Champions Trophy.
Dubbed 'Captain Cool' because of his unflappable style, Dhoni is also one of India's best loved sports personalities and his fans have been dreading this decision for months.
Dhoni posted a four minute seven second video of his career highlights on Instagram and added in a caption: "Thanks a lot for your love and support throughout. From 1929hrs consider me as retired."
