You’ve got to hand it to David Warner for his amazing sense of humour. The Australian opener may still be a fitness doubt for the third Test against India in Sydney, just after the New Year, even though he has been named in the 17-man squad.

But Warner, who is on a comeback trail following a groin injury which he suffered during the second ODI, continued to show the lighter side of him.

Warner, who is active on social media platforms and has been quite the character with his dance moves and the latest being the impersonation of Shah Rukh Khan from Don 2, posted an image of himself in Australian ODI colours, and a graphic, with the words: ‘Sir G.P.Muthu Award for ICC Male Tiktoker of the Decade.’

He captioned it by saying: “Thanks everyone for your support. @yuzichahal23 I thought we would be joint winners #notofficial #funny #buttabomma

The reference to the unusual ‘award’ is because the International Cricket Council (ICC) recently announced the ICC Awards of the Decade.

And the reference to Yuzvendra Chahal is because the Indian leg-spinner too has been one of the funniest cricketers going around.

GP Muthu is a popular personality on Tiktok, the video-sharing social networking service.

The real ICC awards saw Indian captain Virat Kohli win the Sir Garfield Sobers Award for ICC Male Cricketer of the Decade, while Warner’s compatriot Steve Smith being named the ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Decade. Kohli also won the ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Decade.
