A mother, who travelled all the way from Jordan to New Zealand to attend the funeral of her son killed in the Christchurch mosque attack, died of a heart attack on Friday.
Local media reported that the 64-year-old woman, who arrived a few hours before her son's funeral, died after suffering a heart attack as she couldn't bear the sorrow of losing her son.
Her family is currently planning to transfer her body back to Jordan.
The woman's son, 38-year-old Kamel Darweash, a father of three children, immigrated to New Zealand six months back and was staying with his elder brother.
Darweash had applied for visa of his wife and children to join him in New Zealand, before he was killed.
