The much-awaited Royal wedding is over and the newly-wed couple, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have started settling into their married life. But seems the fanfare is not yet over for many invited guests who are cashing in on the royal wedding goodies.
According to Metro.uk report, one such guest, Claire Oliver, HR manager, made £21,400 (Dh104,962 approx) by selling royal wedding gift bag, containing a souvenir order of service and a welcome letter from Harry and Meghan.
The 31-year-old, of south-east London, tweeted hours before the ceremony started: 'I got to watch the royal wedding right outside WindsorCastle in this amazing setting. Such an amazing day #Golden ticket #Royal connections.' Oliver works for Troup Bywaters, which offers engineering apprenticeships to young workers - a cause backed by the prince, reported Mail Online.
It is reported that guests at the wedding have made around £30,000 (Dh147,144 approx) by selling their gift bags on eBay after dozens of the goodie bags appeared on the auction site. The gift bags are believed to have been given to a group of 1,200 non-VIPs chosen to see the royals and A-list guests from outside St George's Chapel.
The Royal gift bag included shortbread, a commemorative magnet, Windsor Castle water, a large chocolate coin, shortbread and a voucher for the castle shop. Several of the gift bags are still on sale on eBay with ample bidders eyeing to grab one. One of the eager sellers wrote: 'Buy a piece of history and memorabilia to celebrate a momentous special day for Britain's and the royal family'.
Moreover, it is believed that there eager buyers who have even paid £5 for a PDF of the order of service which is available for free on the royal family's website.
