Get UAE work permits in two days now, announces ministry

A work permit in the UAE can now be acquired within two working days, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) announced on Monday.(Latest jobs in UAE)
"Business owners can obtain work permits through the smart committee service, which actions the establishment's request electronically and around the clock," MoHRE said.
Khaleej Times visited the MoHRE stand at Gitex Technology Week. A staff explained that the employer or his representative does not have to go physically to MoHRE but can now submit the application through MoHRE's app or website.
The online service is available 24/7. It cuts the process of manually checking if the employer has not exceeded the employee quota. And if all the requirements are complete, the work permit will be available in 48 hours.
In the UAE, procuring a work permit involves MoHRE and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs of the emirate where a person is employed. The process starts with procuring a work permit from MoHRE. The work permit allows the holder to enter and stay in the country for employment for two months from the date of issue.
