A total of 7,382 grade-12 students have taken the Emirates Standardised Tests (EmSAT) in the first four sessions held at 257 centres across the country.
The Ministry of Education (MoE) said the average attendance of the students for the EmSAT's four core subjects - English, mathematics, physics and Arabic - reached 93 per cent. The tests, which started on June 9, will run until July 2.
The ministry assigned 160 new centres for the smooth running of the EmSAT tests. The ministry said determining the place and time for doing the test was solely the responsibility of the student. The students had earlier been advised to register for the available sessions at the centres in their areas of residence or emirates. If a student didn't have a seat within their emirate in the initial sessions, he/she had to wait until the next session.
After registration, the students received a text message on their registered phone and email with the opening times of the sessions.
"Your commitment to the test performance date makes it easier for your university admission process on scheduled appointments, and remember to bring your Emirates ID even if it is expired at the time of the test, knowing that digital ID will be accepted," authorities said in a message posted out online for the students.
