Educators have been trying to find the "perfect" teaching method for decades. And, while each teacher may have his or her own teaching style, 'whole brain teaching' has become a practice that is commonly used by educators these days as it's known to produce 'active learning'.
This teaching style helps tap into both the left and right hemispheres of the brain, as teachers play music in class and students are encouraged to visualise and draw what they are learning.
According to teachhub.com, there are seven steps that teachers should incorporate into their classroom if they are using the whole brain teaching (WBT) technique. These include attention-getting strategies, classroom rules, focusing hands and eyes, a scoreboard motivator, among others.
All these strategies are meant to help bring out the creative and practical side of a student. It also said that this teaching method helps create 100 per cent engagement in a classroom.
