Dubai Economy (DED) has imposed a fine on an electronic trading establishment in the Naif area for not adhering to precautionary measures set by the authorities to limit the spread of Covid-19, including not wearing face masks.

However, overall inspections found 1232 shops and commercial establishments fully complied with the precautionary measures with no closures or warnings, according to a tweet posted on the DED site.

Dubai Economy urged everyone to cooperate and contribute to keeping the emirate’s economy moving.

Meanwhile, Dubai Economy has also launched its Smart Inspection project that uses Internet of Things (IoT). This will allow the team to inspect facilities without it thus saving the trader the hassle of providing inspection teams with a copy of the commercial license or any other permits required by the department.

The move aims to increase the efficiency of inspection in compliance with Covid-19 precautionary measures.
