A 27-year-old GCC national was apprehended by Abu Dhabi Police after stealing two cars that had been left running with the keys in the ignition.
The man had also replaced the original licence plates on the stolen cars.
Brigadier Ahmed Saif Bin Zaitoon Al Muhairi, Director of the Capital Police Directorate, formed a team to investigate the incident. After conducting a thorough search, they were able to apprehend the culprit.

Most such incident happen because the owners left their cars running with the keys in the ignition to make a quick errand. This kind of theft is easily avoidable, Al Muhairi said.
He warned the public to keep their cars securely locked and parked when disembarking.
