Man arrested for experimenting with marijuana in his home in Abu Dhabi

Police found marijuana saplings and an environment suitable for growing the drug.

Abu Dhabi Police arrested an Asian man after finding saplings of marijuana in his home.
The man was growing them experimentally, cultivating a number of strains. 
Colonel Taher Ghareeb Al Dhahiri, Director of the Drug Control in the Criminal Security Sector said, "The man had set up a suitable environment for the plant's germination.
"He confessed to plans of expanding the cultivation of the new strain if it proved successful. His attempt failed, however."
The Drug Combatting department's efforts helped them verify the information and deal with the situation according to protocol.
The case was referred to the Public Prosecution for the proper legal procedures.
"Citizens and residents should cooperate with the police and report any illegal or suspicious acts or behaviour to combat drug dealers, smugglers, and drug traffickers and help us strengthen our response in this regard," Al Dhahiri added.
