Emirati man rapes girlfriend in Dubai hotel room

A 29-year-old man has been charged in the Dubai Court of First Instance with raping his girlfriend in a hotel room, which he had booked for her a few hours earlier.
The unemployed accused Emirati is believed to have been 'aggressive and violent' when he raped the Lebanese woman in her hotel room. He pulled her hair and managed to rape her under duress despite resistance from her.
According to public prosecution records, the incident took place on March 26 and was registered at Al Barsha police station.
"On that day, he called me to invite me for dinner at a 5-star hotel. He said he had a surprise for me and that he had booked a hotel room for me. He told me to bring my friend along as his friend would also have dinner with us," said the complainant, an employee aged 36.
"He picked us up from my place and drove to the resort. There he gave me the room keys and then we went to dinner. We all had liquor except his friend. After the other couple left the restaurant, I went to my room while he stayed at the reception to book another room for himself".
However, he came to her room later, on the pretext that he needed to use her mobile charger. In the meantime, he had one of his friends bring him liquor and other beverages.
After having alcohol and nuts in the balcony, he followed her inside where he started to sexually harass her. She pushed him away several times but eventually, he pulled her by the hair and raped her as she cried.
"When I got later got ready to leave the room, he grabbed me by the neck and covered my mouth. He asked me to stop kicking him and stop being dramatic".
He tried again to stop her from leaving when she took her purse. "I thought for a while I could die if he keeps covering my mouth to stop me from screaming. I told him to let me leave promising I would not complain against him or cause him any trouble. I wanted to calm him down," she said.
However, he kept pushing her shoulder.
It was only after she begged him to let her go for the sake of her children, he got out of her way and let her go.  
She then reported him to the hotel security guard and the police.
On examination at the hospital, the defendant's DNA was found on the complainant's body and underwear.
Both of them were proven to be in the room where the incident happened, based on the fingerprints found at the place, according to the forensics team report.
Hotel CCTV footage - that could help in the case - were studied during investigation.
