The woman, who was in her late 20s, was found dead under mysterious circumstances with her head inside a water bowl. Initially police suspected the woman could have been murdered, but an autopsy report revealed there were no signs of any foul play or violence.
In an interview with Al Bayan daily, Dr Yunus Muhammad Al Balushi, a forensic consultant at the General Department of Forensic Evidence and Criminology at Dubai Police, said there was no evidence of violence and no traces of any substance consumed by the woman which could have caused her death.
Investigation revealed the woman worked at a mall and was suffering from serious psychological issues and emotional distress. She lived in a shared accommodation with other women who divulged to police that she suffered from emotional issues. Police examined her mobile phone which revealed that she searched online for bizarre ways to commit suicide.
