Expat sends WhatsApp voice note, lands in UAE court

Sharjah - He had no idea this phrase would get him into trouble.

An offensive voice note sent on WhatsApp has landed its owner in a Sharjah court.
The Asian accused had apparently sent a number of voice notes to the victim on October 24 of last year.
They had gotten into a verbal argument and the victim alleged that he told him "You have no brain?", as per Emarat Al Youm report.
According to the suspect's testimony, he denied threatening to get the other man deported, but concurred that he did ask him that (rhetorical) question.
In his defence, the suspect argued this phrase is commonly used among people of his nationality. 
He had no idea this kind of language would get him into trouble, he argued.
The court adjourned the next hearing till January 20 to hear from the victim.
