Cleaner in dock for molesting 6-yr-old girl in Dubai

Dubai - The cleaner told the girl's father that it was a joke.

A cleaner recently stood trial at the Dubai Court of First Instance for molesting a six-year-old girl.
The 30-year-old Bangladeshi man, who has been detained, allegedly took the Indian girl to the lift of her residence, where he kissed and hugged her, according to public prosecution records. 
The incident dates back to March 7 this year and was reported at Al Qusais police station.
The girl's father, an Indian flight attendant, said that at 2.30am on March 7, his daughter told him that she wanted to sleep next to him. "She said she felt scared and did not want the accused to come and clean our house again."
The father said he found out that the defendant kissed and hugged his daughter on February 24 and February 28.
"He would take her to the lift as she was playing with our neighbours' children. I checked the surveillance cameras and saw the defendant calling my girl to come to him, then taking her away. When I confronted the accused, he claimed it was a joke and confessed he did a mistake and asked to be forgiven," the father told the prosecutor.
The defendant will be sentenced on April 29.
