A GCC national is on trial for insulting a bank teller, after he asked him to wait for turn according to the queue number, local media reported.
The teller, at an Abu Dhabi bank, found that the customer wanted to withdraw some money from his account, yet the credit in his account wasn't enough.
The teller asked him to refer the matter to the customer service department.
When the accused returned from the concerned department, the teller was handling another customer and asked the man to wait in queue.
The agitated customer refused and started to threaten and insult the teller saying "don't you know who I am? I will teach you [a lesson]."
The Court of First Instance fined the man Dh10,000 and gave him a suspended three-month sentence. The Abu Dhabi appeal court is currently examining the case for hearing on March 26, 2019.
