UAE residents faced some strong winds on Thursday night, and different parts of the country woke up to grey skies and different intensities of rain on Friday morning.
The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) said light to heavy showers are expected to continue in various parts of the country.
The NCMS also warned residents about poor visibility caused by blowing dust and sand. Motorists need to be extra vigilant while on the roads during the weekend.

"Towering clouds, thundery and rainy at times with fresh winds blowing dust" are expected to continue until Monday.
Aziza Ahmad, who recently arrived from Canada for a holiday, said that she was hoping to see warmer weather during her holiday.
"I arrived last week and the weather felt slightly warmer and more settled. We were hoping to spend the weekend on the beach, but that doesn't look so promising anymore."
"I'm used to the cold weather over in Canada, and that's why I though that I will have a break and enjoy some sun here," she added.
Other residents, however, are enjoying the fresh weather, showers and cooler temperatures.
"Cool weather always feels more cozy and we will miss having rain and fresh winds shortly when UAE's sizzling summer arrives," said Zainab Adami.
The unstable weather, which is regarded as a normal transition into summer, will continue with rain throughout Saturday, as well as heavy clouds throughout the day, mainly in internal and southern areas of the country. The heavy clouds will, however, decrease in most areas by the evening during the weekend.
Cool temperatures will hit as low as 12°C in internal areas and drop to 15°C along the coast. The Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea will also be rough as strong northwesterly winds are expected to hit the coast with up to 70 kilometers per hour.
"Fresh to strong northwesterly winds and rough to very rough sea with rainy clouds at times," noted NCMS. Although scattered rainfall is expected throughout Saturday, the heavy thunder and rainstorm UAE witnessed last month is not expected.
Abu Dhabi and Al Ain will see scattered cloudy weather with rain and thunder and a temperature ranging between 20°C to 26°C for Abu Dhabi and 21°C to 28°C for Al Ain.
Dubai, Sharjah and Al Fujairah can also expect clouds, rain and thunder and a weather ranging between 22°C to 27°C for Dubai, 24°C to 31°C for Al Fujairah, while Sharjah's weather will be slightly cooler as it will range between 21°C to 27°C.
