Tajikistan to be guest of honour  at 17th Sharjah Heritage Days

Tajikistan will be the official guest of honour at the 17th Edition of Sharjah Heritage Days (SHD), which is set to commence on April 2.
The event that will run up to April 20 will promote the UAE's diverse culture to an international audience under the theme 'Craft and Calligraphy' and activities will be organised in 11 locations across the emirate.
Addressing a Press conference, Dr Abdulaziz Almusallam, chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage and chairman of the Higher Committee of the Sharjah Heritage Days, said that China will be the special guest for the event.
Dr Almusallam said: "The primary goal of the Sharjah Heritage Days is to promote the emirate's diverse culture and rich heritage aimed at attracting people from across the region and all over the world."
Sixty countries from around the world, including Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Canada, Britain, Sudan, China, Japan, Brazil, Spain, India, Mexico, Austria, Bahrain, Egypt, the Netherlands, Iraq, Oman, Slovakia, Argentina, Nigeria, Italy, Morocco, Algeria, Jordan, Palestine and Mauritania among others are participating in this year's edition of the Sharjah Heritage Days.
About 700 participants including experts, artisans, researchers, writers and media professionals are participating in this year's event. 
This year's celebration includes participation of 22 international groups, 15 government agencies and 18 bands from within the state. The event will also feature participation from several international organisations including CIOFF, IOV and University of Zhejiang, China.
The Sharjah Heritage Days is a cultural event featuring a variety of exciting exhibits and activities held within a vibrant and entertaining atmosphere.
