A massive fire broke out in Sharjah Heritage Village.
The Sharjah Civil Defence managed to control the fire. According to Colonel Sami Khamis Al Naqbi, Director-General of the Sharjah Civil Defence, no casualties have been reported in the incident.
He added that the fire erupted at around 7:00pm in the huts and quickly spread to the rest of the Heritage Village burning the models of traditional huts in the area.
The Sharjah Civil Defence having been alerted of the fire dispatched teams to the area to control the fire. The teams reached the site in less than 4 minutes and took one hour to control the fire and also prevented it from spreading to the other parts of the village which includes the traditional markets.
The cause of the fire has not been determined yet, but the firefighters are currently carrying out a cooling operation and will hand over the site to the fire experts in the police department, for further investigation.
