The Sharjah Criminal Court has charged an Asian man with assaulting and robbing a cyclist of Dh10,000 in Sharjah's Saja industrial area. He allegedly carried out the robbery with the help of two of his accomplices.
During the court hearing, the complainant said that he was cycling his way back home in Saja industrial area around 7 pm when three people called out at him on the pretext of asking directions to a place. The victim stopped to tell them the way they should take. Suddenly, two of them assaulted him and whipped out a knife to threaten him. The defendant snatched the victim's wallet that contained around Dh10,000. 
He screamed for help and was rescued by passers-by before the cops arrived at the scene. Two of the assaulters fled the spot. The police managed to arrest the defendant and took legal action against him.
In the court, the accused said he did not attack or rob the victim. 
The court adjourned the case to November 28 for judgment.
