New app for registering light trailers in UAE

Ras Al Khaimah - Insuring a trailer is up to the owner.

The Ras Al Khaimah Police on Monday launched a smart application for registering light trailers. Through the app, residents can register trailers for three years.
Major-General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of the RAK Police, said: "Starting July 22, all trailers on the RAK roads need to be licensed through this app."
Col Adel Ali Al Ghais, director of vehicle and drivers licensing, said five types of trailers are covered under the app. "These include the trailers used in transporting luggage, boats, bedrooms, bikes and horses."
Insuring a trailer is up to the owner, he added.
The trailers can be examined at the testing station in Al Saedi area in collaboration with the general resources authority, he explained. "The user-friendly app will save applicants' time and efforts in line with the Ministry of Interior strategy."
