The Ras Al Khaimah Police have arrested an Asian who attempted to pay traffic fines using fake currency.
The police traced the source of money and busted an Asian gang which allegedly specialised in pushing fake currency.
According to the police, the suspect tried to pay his traffic fines by using fake dirhams. Sergeant Ali Zaid Malik, however, smelled a rat and took the suspect into custody.
The suspect led the police to the gang. Brigadier Abdullah Khamis Al Suwaidi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the RAK Police, honoured Sergeant Malik for his efficiency.
