The 3.5 million plus Indian community in the UAE has the collective responsibility to uphold the values of their host country, and reciprocate UAE's respect and generosity, the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday in Dubai.
"The rulers here have respected India. It is our responsibility to take care of the ideals here," Modi said addressing the 1800-strong community who had gathered at the Dubai Opera to listen to him.
Chants of 'Modi, Modi' and 'Vande Mataram' rendered the auditorium of the Opera House as the Prime Minister unveiled the model of the first Hindu temple to be constructed in Abu Dhabi.
"I want to thank His Highness the Crown Prince on behalf of the 125 crores Indians for the grand temple, which will be constructed," said Modi.

"The temple is a holy place that can be a catalyst to bring harmony and humanity. I believe this temple will not be only unique in terms of architecture and splendor, but will also give a message of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' (the world is one family) to people all over the world."
Modi arrived in Abu Dhabi on February 10 evening on his second state visit to the UAE in less than three years and was received by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and the Deputy Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. Top cabinet members and other members of the royal family members were also present.
Modi attended a state banquet hosted in his honour by the Crown Prince at the Presidential Palace, and took the honour of being the first official visitor to be hosted at the new palace.
