For 11-year-old Zia, plastic bottles mean life

We may not even think twice before throwing used plastic soda bottles in the trash. But for 11-year-old old Ziad Mohammed Ahmad Mohammed from Egypt, these used plastic bottles are helping him to live a normal life.
Born with a rare disease that left him without arms and hands, Zia who studies in second grade, uses old plastics bottles for prosthetic limbs. It is with the help of these bottles that he is able to eat, drink and even write on his own.
According to Al Arabiya, his father created prosthetic limbs for him from the plastic bottles after cutting them in half. Placing the bottles on his arm, things like spoon or pen  is pierced through the bottle cap.
Despite having joined school late, it is with the help of these bottles that Zia is able to perform well at school.
